Default Help with paneling strips on historic side

Hello all, We bought in the historic side back in November, and are so pleased with our decision. We have a 1986 double wide that is needing some redecorating. We notice that some of the strips that hold the paneling together has been removed and plastered over with a thin coat. We would like to remove a few remaining strips before we paint. Does any one have experience with that. I don't know what is behind the strips? Thanks for your help. LB

Pat's in Leesburg......has everything you want to repair manufactured homes. Check it out, they seem to be very knowledgeable too!

There is a slender space that I put the adhesive mesh over and then lightly compounded and sanded twice. Two coats of paint with primer and it looks pretty good. Make sure all staples are flat and any gouges are finished.
