Default Garage floor coatings?

Who did you use, and why. I’ve received two quotes, one for $2500 one for $3500. It’s an oversized 3 car. Thanks

Whatever you do make sure the final coat has a nonslip finish, or you may end up with a very slippery surface when it is wet.

I used Tim Miller to epoxy my garage floor. It looks great and it has a specled finish so no slipping. If you would like to come and see it, message me. 352 217-0561

Thanks for the offer. I have talked to him and have seen his work, we have a friend who used Tim. Just curious if there were others.

Did it myself. Epoxy base with polyurethane top coat and shark grip. $600 for top quality materials and 2 days time for a 2 car extended garage. It took 2 days only because I had nowhere to move all of my stuff... so I did half at a time.

Still looks great 4 years later! One thing to watch - once you put a covering on, the floor is sealed. So when you drive your car or cart in from a rainstorm, the water does not soak into the concrete as it did before, and puddles stay for days. I usually squeegee them out of the garage.

Epoxy, we have used it a couple times before and were satisfied. I don’t want to spend $3500 on a floor coating.

What products did you use and where did you purchase them? I plan on doing mine soon.

Very good advice. I took a hell of a fall on the slick epoxy. Any suggestions on how to correct to a nonskid repair?

Go to Sherwin Williams and ask if they sell a clear sealer suitable to go over epoxy, then get shark grip or equal friction additive, and follow directions for cleaning the floor and applying the new coating. You can check with other paint stores also, but I have had very good luck with S-W.

Originalcolorchips.com. Not cheap but an excellent product that I've used twice with fantastic results

Default What tools and products did you need to use when you were starting with a new home?

What tools and products did you need to use to epoxy your garage floor. I have been looking at DIY videos and most of their time is spent trying to get horrible floors to look new. So I would welcome if anyone can share the step-by-step and the products and tools that you used for each step to see if it is something that I can consider doing.

Thank you

We used Decorative Concrete Kings (Cody McElroy) for ours. He does fantastic work at a fair price. Epoxy coating in any color, with color chips that offer plenty of "bite." We have an oversize 3-car garage, and it was $1800.00 close to two years ago. May well have gone up since then, but it may be worth checking with him.
