Default How do Villagers get their mail?

We're moving to The Villages in September and I'm curious about HOW you receive your mail. Does a mailman deliver it? Or do you have a mailbox at a post office? Thanks.

hi, glad you are moving here. Have you visited? Each neighborhood has a pool, a bocce ball court, a shuffleboard court and a postal station where you pick up your mail.

Each Village has a mailbox center where you go to get your mail and U.S. Mail packages. FedEx and UPS come to your door.

At the mailbox center, you have your own box and on your box, put one or two stickers on it..................everyone loves that.

My husband keeps posting photos of us biking in our shirtsleeves to tweak our northern friends!

You can bring stickers with you so everyone knows where you hail from.
A few people don't like stickers, but the postal people don't care. Stickers personalize your box and make it easy to find.

I was told the mail stations double as a dog park.

I was going to mention that as a joke; but I thought I'd get tarred and feathered and run out of town.

You can afford to be cheeky because you're back up North!

If you have a package that is too big to fit in your mailbox, does the mailman leave a note in your box to let you know you have a package (US post office mail only?)

There are bigger mail boxes on the side of each mail station for bigger packages. The carrier will leave a key for that particular box in your mailbox. Anything too big for those bigger boxes will be delivered to your home address at the end of their day.

Just another bit of info. Our neighborhood mail stations including mail boxes are climate controlled. That is great for several mailed items I can think of, most importantly medications.
