Default Garage Screens

Not yet living in TV, but having visited a couple of times, I've noticed some screens covering garage doors. Would someone please tell me what purpose those screens serve? Do people finish off their garages, furnish them then open the solid doors so that just the screen is on the front?

People put the screens on the garage so they can have the garage doors open and open a back bedroom window or the sliders to the lanai and get a wonderful breeze coming thru the house. You also can open the garage doors while leaving the screens closed and work in the garage with privacy and also keep out bugs, etc. We had a patio villa and now a designer and put the garage screens on both units. We really liked what they offer.

About 18 months ago a four panel slider was about $650 complete. We used F&R Aluminum and we very pleased. My neighbor has a roll up but I don't know prices or whether they are pleased.

We also paid $650 to have a garage screen installed in 4/06 and the job was done by Custom Windows located on Hwy 441/27 in Fruitland Park #352-787-9797. We have used Custom Windows to enclose our lanai and also our front porch and have found them to be very reliable and trustworthy.

We have a roll screen on our garage. I love the fact we can open and close with a remote. We put it down to get the nice cool air through our patio villa. It cost $1500 to buy 6 years ago. Glad we bought a resale---this was included along with alot of other little upgrades, another reason to consider a resale.
