Just checked with friends back in PA, they pay 27.00/mo for a private hauler. Twice a week for garbage and once week for recycle. I couldn't remember. They also have annual increases. That is in a rural area. Trucks aren't clean and they chase garbage cans after pickup. Of course when it rains they need to empty the cans of the rain water before dragging into the garage. The nearest city has a rate of $22.76/mo for ONE pickup per week garbage and recycle and that city is bankrupt and a very, very low economic position. Drive to very, very affluent suburb of that city and the rate is $20.83/mo for one pickup a week plus $15.00 per bulk item pickup. Both municipalities do single stream recycling, as as us. To me, what they charge here and plan to charge here for twice a week, no trash cans to deal with, no additional bulk pickup charges, clean trucks is still a deal :)

That is good news? They are not paid enough.

:blahblahblah: No, if you took the time to get any info this is a world wide issue since China decided not to be the dumping ground for the worlds garbage. Just had friends from Switzerland visiting it is a big issue for them as well.

I guess for some, wringing their hands and believing the sky is falling makes their life worthwhile. Poor me, that darn Developer is responsible for all these bad things that are happening to ME. :)

Horrible news. I haven't been this distraught since my marbles were confiscated for my playing keepsies on campus in 6th grade.

Did you move here thinking that everything was going to stay at the same price level? As TV grows there will be more price increases. Need more police, fire, first responders, doctors, hospitals, roads.

BUT...…….there will be more humans to share the tax burden.
