I agree 100%. Must be the cheapest for the developer to include in the new homes. It is so ridiculous.

I traded in the stove and refrigerator after we moved into our new south of 44 designer home. They were POS if you asked me. I got the top of the line appliances that were wifi/SmartThings enabled, the range has a griddle middle, and each burner has a different size for different pans with 1 burner with 2 fire rings for the larger pots. All the knobs are in the front and light up blue when on. The refrigerator is the 5 door model.

What does this have to do with the OP's question?

Turn on the oven on Bake make it as dark as possible in the room and open oven door and look for orange glow around air openings in bottom pan. If you see the glow and no flame/heat occurs then the ignitor is most likely defective and will need replaced. You can see what the ignitor looks like by turning on broil function and look toward the top of the oven and you will be able to see device glowing orange. Do NOT touch or handle the ignitor it heats to 2200 degrees. Ignitors are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased online for your make and model a simple handyperson can replace. Once again do not touch the ignitor or a hot spot will shorten the life of the new one. Even if it does not glow DO NOT TOUCH THE IGNITOR IF HAS BEEN TURNED ON until power is off for an extended period of time...Good Luck.
