Well, that is DEFINITELY NOT what I meant! And unfortunately, if the people that live “inside the gates” cared more about such safety I would agree with you! Enough said!

I am always amused by the few who bad mouth the "fake" gated community...a want in their mind only.

The gates are strictly traffic control....activity between golf cars and full sized automobiles...nothing more.

Yes some have cameras...mostly to record a collision incident...most of which is the crashing of the gate(s).

What amazes me is why anyone would move here having the assumption that the gates are to keep people out. Does no one do a second of research? The gates are for safety. For example, the next time you’re in your cart, or bicycle or walking on the MMP and need to cross a road behind a gate/guard shack, imagine safely doing that without the gates regulating traffic. Furthermore, when a gate arm has been broken off, check out the vehicles who drive through at 30mph without even slowing or stopping to check for cross traffic.

Again, you really don’t know why there are gates here ?

The gates exist because golf carts and cars share those entrances. Imagine if the gates were not there.

I don't understand why so much bitterness exists about the gates. TV is not a gated community, the streets are county owned. That information is available to anyone who wishes to look. Assumptions lead to resentment.

Just press the red button or use the attendant side , over 2000 per year just drive through and knock the gate arm off.

Push a button lol, this is not a gated community. I think they are cute and it is nice to see a kind face but it amazes me how the developer gets away with putting private gates in public roads. This would never fly in other areas.

There are either gate attendants or a red button which will open the gates. I believe the gates main purpose is to slow down traffic when entering a village community

I was curious after seeing "push the button", "push the red button" post so often.
Of the 58 posts 19 of them said just that. So many people that don't read what already has been posted.
