Yes, works great. Ed Ingalls 217 433 1394. $39 per car and they come to your home.

Joe charges $20 according to some posters. Is the chip that Ed uses worth nearly double the price of $39? Is there a difference in quality of the chip?

I like it because it lowers the wear and tear on the window motor. Get it or don't get it, but why waste your time criticizing the idea if you are not interested in trying it?
Mine fits inside the mirror housing and is mostly hidden by the mirror. What is showing, I covered with a piece of black tape that blends with the color of the mirror housing. My wife didn't even notice it.
I've seen people waving their cards around like a panicked chicken flapping it's wings, folks dropping their cards on the ground and even one that dropped his card down inside the door. I drive slowly up to the sensor and watch for the green light. I usually don't even have to come to a complete stop. There is only one gate so far that it does not work at.

Which gate won't it work at? We use the Mallory gate and the Odell gate all the time so if those gates are troublesome, we will not consider the chip. Thanks.

Ours worked at both the Dell and Mallory gates last week...

Mr. Noggin -or Richard if I may call you by your first name - give it a rest.

$20,, $40 or free, whatever, they are all the same. I live off O'dell and it works fine 100% of the time at both ends of O'Dell. The only gate I have ever had a problem with was the one down Aveneida that takes you into Target because the reader is very low but it still works 90% of the time if you are patient. Worse case push the red button.

Mine worked at those gates. Guess someone didn't install yours in the right position, or maybe your vehicle is just too low/high? The one gate where mine won't work, the sensor is very high. When I was experimenting on positioning my chip in the mirror, the gate guard told me that EVERYONE has a problem with the chips at that gate because it really is too high compared to all the other gates in the Villages. I was told by the gate person to just use the visitor side, because that is what they are there for anyway. That is the only gate so far where I use the visitor side.

Thanks. Good to know. Seems my husband is reluctant to have this done to our SUV. Darn!

If we get the chip (I'm for it and hubby is not), we will still carry the gate card in the slot in the driver's sun visor. Just in case we "over shoot the zone the chip will work or if the chip is not lined up properly with the "eye".

Perhaps he is fearful of it because he's unfamiliar with how it works and is afraid it might damage the car somehow. If you could dig up a concise explanation of how it works, and include the fact that it does no damage to the care whatsoever, it would help him change his mind.

Failing that, do you have two cars? Or one car and a golf cart? Put one in your second car or cart and demonstrate to him how harmless it is. Add in the fact that most of the people installing them will also come out and change them from one car to another.

I sure did enjoy not having to stick my hand out at the St James Gate twice today in two thunderstorms.

Thank you for the suggestions.
