It’s so easy to simply swipe the card with window open or closed. How spoiled we are to have to have a chip do that work for us.

I use my cloned mirror gate card everyday to enter Villages gates as if they were auto exit gates. Cloned gate cards will continue to work as long as the origional is still active in the system. I would not use anything else to go through an entrance gate as if it were an exit gate.

I have heard that the chips will not be compatible with the new system they are supposed to be implementing. Mine still works.

It works well as long as it levels with the gate stand height. It often fails in the new village areas due to too tall or too short stands. Chas

It slows traffic down for walkers, Bikers, and Carts.

Redundant on public road card scanners are waste of money when you can just push red button. Gate guards are even bigger wast of money. IMO The gates on public street should open automatically with timed delay to allow break in traffic to allow golf carts to pass which why they are there in first place.

District 4 in Marion county only half way considered private roads due to district 4 pays for all road maintenance off B/V. When my street needs patched from water leak Sumter county contracted to patch asphalt. At least has been, been awhile since needed repairs in my neighborhood.

As an owner, I expect 100% honesty from maintenance and support organizations. For them to have my best interests in mind, never to spend my money foolishly, and to consider all alternatives before wasting money.
That level of care was severely lacking for this gate card issue. It has not been a successful project. Grade: F

Very annoyed about them spending millions of dollars that most view as unnecessary, to continue an obsolete way of operations, plus releasing misleading/false information. Adding nothing useful to the system. So what if "old cards" no longer work; the red buttons still work. This entire project was a huge waste of money since every gate could have been put in construction mode (opens automatically) at ZERO COST. Plus, the ongoing labor cost to issue and track cards would be eliminated to SAVE money. Revised grade: F-

Same. But I don't want to scuff my sweet rims so it's not uncommon to hold the card up to the window, wait a couple of seconds, decide it's not working, roll down the window, and swipe the card. Which is slow as all heck! But some are easier than others, that's for sure.
