Re the maintenance fee - I looked at my tax bill on-line and did not see it listed there. Checked a couple of others and not itemized on those either.

I guess you folks took my comment the wrong way.When I said they were a joke I meant that they can't keep them working.I see they are working on the one at Canal and Stillwater this morning. NJbchbm, from my understanding, everyone pays a maintenance fee, but in some areas it is not separated out on the tax bill. When our new neighbors moved in from a CYV in a different area, they went ballistic upon seeing a maintenance fee on their tax bill. The lady called Sumter Cty and was told everyone pays one. Sumter lists theirs as such.

Count your blessings. The gates could be stuck closed instead of open.
