I was ready to tee off on Redfish #9 a week and a half ago and had to wait while a guy holding a gator by the tail ran down the hill and across the fairway to get it back in the water. The gator looked to be about 6-7 foot long. Apparently, the gator was playing shuffle board up by the rec center next to Redfish and didn't have a Villages ID card. True story - no April Fool joke.

This may not be a joke - but methinks that guy was the April Fool...pun very much intended...

The first rule of golf etiquette in Florida is gators are always allowed to play through.

Along that same line the next time the golf ambassador stops and wants you to speed up your play just tell him you were waiting for the gator to clear the fairway.

Sounds like it was a good thing you had your Villages ID card with you!

I deleted the original e-mail from my neighbor, but I'm pretty sure it was on Avon Loop here in BonnyBrook.

I was scuba diving at Alexander Springs and a 12 footer came and joined us. I got a few pictures of it before we decided to vacate the springs. It was in the swimming area and eyeing up a couple of kids. One of the guys grabbed it by the tail underwter and it took off very fast. So did we,

That is a mighty good picture.
Is that the really small pond that is very low on water near the Villas?

If so, that would be right near my house then. LOL we back up to #4 I think.

Click on the picture and it will open a little bigger. In that new bigger frame, right click on the picture and in IE select save picture as...... in firefox select save image as.....

Save to a file and now email it as an attachment.

We pulled up in our cart and saw police cars, etc in the lot and couldn't imagine what happened. The gator was behind some fencing and sadly was shot by a gator trapper. The police said that once they are comfortable around humans they cannot be trusted. I had never seen wildlife being killed and felt bad for the gator. The police warned the onlookers that he was going to be shot and that children should not be in the area. You could not see it being killed, but sure heard the gunshot. Guess I'll have to buck up if I want to be a Floridian!

I know for a fact these rumors are true: I'm bringing my old 80's vintage Tiger Shark pitching wedge down.
