Gently Used Furniture
Going to furnish an empty, recently purchased house. Would like to not break the bank furnishing it. Have heard of a couple of consignment stores near The Villages. Any thoughts, experiences making purchases there. Good prices? Good inventory? Delivery?

Bargains and Treasures in Oxford near Rt 466 is a good place. Some people like Almost Perfect, but I think it is overpriced.

Try Furniture Barn Consignment in Fruitland Park. If you want good furniture in good condition.

It is but they negotiate.

Have heard that Carriage House in Ocala has good used furniture. However, some new furniture is low priced so wouldn't rule that out entirely. Babette's has a sister store next to the main store in Leesburg that sells attractive furniture at a lower price. Can't think of the name right now.

We have purchased several items at Almost Perfect. Thought pricing was rather good but when I did try to negotiate they had no interest in doing so.
As a matter of fact a lot of what they offer is new. |

It is hit or miss depending on their daily changing inventory, but we got some great deals from Almost Perfect Furniture. They have a couple of very large warehouses full of stuff, and the prices are very reasonable. Fortunately, we own a pick-up truck so we did not have to pay any type of delivery fee. If you are looking for everything to match, forget about it. But if you want some great deals, check them out. Our dinning table and chairs are a Broyhill set that you could not tell was not brand new, and we paid about 1/4 or the price if we bought it new. It is one of the nicest pieces of furniture we own in both our Villages and Northern Home. We also got a very nice coffee table, an entertainment center type set-up for our TV, and some end tables. Good luck furnishing your new home. Our advice would be, don't be in a big hurry to furnish everything right away. If you take your time you will find some great deals and save lots of $$. Before you know it, you will have more stuff in your home than you know what to do with. Go slow and enjoy : )

I've found some very nice things at estate sales, for some great deals. Check out estatesales.net to be notified of those here in The Villages.

Bargains & Blessings 301 N. Main Street (US 301) in Wildwood. Good Inventory, fairly priced, has delivery and all proceeds go back into helping those less fortunate.

Try Habitat stores, I found more reasonable than the others.

I went through all of their warehouses three weeks ago, and nothing smelled AT ALL musty. I bought a beautiful new chair and ottoman and two lovely wrought-iron lamps for $40 each. Naturally, new pieces may sell for more than old pieces, and the more perfect sell for more than the almost perfect, but there are always good buys. It’s not a junk store. It’s not furniture picked up from beside the road or left behind by renters in mobile homes. They only sell good stuff. I’ve also been to the Treasures store a couple times and also found some very good deals. I like both stores.
