Default Gardenia....attic opening in hallway near guest bath

Asking you Gardenia owners out there.....has anyone ever checked out the space in the attic (the opening in the hallway near the guest bath)? I have never looked up there, and am wondering if it could be floored and used as storage space. I realize a ladder would have to be used to access it. Just wondering if anyone has tried this, or if it is possible. thanks........

The attic in that area is pretty low & trusses do not all line up enough to make it usable.

I agree, went up there once to locate some wires, very congested. By the way there is a special ladder for this location, as I recall it pulls down like the ones in the garage, but then the ladder portion telescopes instead of folding.
One other item, if you were to try to put flooring in this location you will be cutting down on your insulation, as you will have only 6 or 7 inches in this location, not the 15 or more inches you would typically have.

So far every post on this thread is quite correct. The simple answer is NO.

You have a storage area above your garage. The trusses above your guest hallway have a 2x4 bottom chord 24" on center. It is not engineered for storage weight.

Thanks so much for all the informative responses. I will leave that attic door shut.

I have been there to access the front br light. I am 'young ' by Villages standards and I can assure I will avoid that space again.
