The area where Lowe's is located is actually Wildwood, and there is no golf cart access to that area. I am not sure that a 'street legal' golf cart can get there as all of the roads are 40 or 45 mph and you must travel a short distance on 466a.

Made it to Pinellas shopping center where i parked the cart and walked over to Lowes About a 10 min walk but had to cross 466A without any crosswalks.....yes, I jay walked! Would love to see an Ace Hardware go in at The Colony

There are 2 ACE hardware stiores in the area, Wildwood route 301, just north of Huey (no golf cart access), and Wedgewood drive, near the Publix. The one on wedgewood carries a lot of stuff unique to the villages.

I try to use ACE over Lowes and Home Depot if I can. They are franchises so need our support if they are to remain in business. They are usually easier to get to and, as VT says, often stock unique items.

This plus they are so very helpful, almost alway have a person stationed at the entrance to direct you to what you need.

You can't do it by street legal cart either as those are limited to streets with speed limits no higher than 35 mph. I don't believe you can even cross streets in a street legal cart if the speed limit on the street you're crossing is higher than 35 mph.

Not that any of that stops some people...

No, but if you are street legal once they finish construction there you will be able to cross at the Pinellas light.

Yes, you can cross any road in a street legal golf cart even if the speed limit is 45mph as long as there is a traffic control device. I have crossed 44 & 441 many times once with a cop sitting in his car on the corner. Also 466A past Powell, Powell and 301 south is all 35mph and street legal accessible.

I'd bet there are more people killed crossing 441 walking or driving cars or on bicycles or riding horses then there are killed crossing in a golf cart. Accidents happen everywhere and all the time.
