If I don't absolutely love it, it goes.
If I haven't used in in a year, it goes.
If it doesn't fit, it goes.
If I can't tell you who is in the photo, or identify the location, it goes.
I'm keeping the books by my favorite authors, but everything else must go. Uhm...I really wanted to read those books...okay...I'm still thinking this one through!

Those are the basics. We've gone through about 20 bins of stuff so far. Our current "keep" count is three, and two of those are books!

Pretty good rules. Thanks!

Took my odds & ends (old) golf clubs to the second hand store on Saturday. Got a whopping $62 for 6 clubs! They wouldn't take my Calloway Great Big Bertha driver. Said it was too small. Can you imagine at one time it was the largest driver you could buy?! My, how times and technology change.

Anyway, rather than just putting the $62 in my pocket, I then proceeded to spend $300 on two new utility clubs. In other words, I came out $238 poorer than when I went in the front door. Kind of reminds me when Kathy implies she makes money by buying women's clothing at 50% off.

Get us to TV. We're real close to our move date!

planning on moving stuff down in stages...one trip in a few years with everything for the new house...leaving me with stuff in the up north house to live with for another year or so, then move the rest

We 're doing this right now. I've been ruthless and most things aren't "making the cut." What I am struggling with are the things my mother made...hand crocheted bedspreads and table cloths, quilts and such. Our kids don't want them and it seems disrespectful to donate them where they be sold for $1 or so. eBay isn't an option since they would sell for so little it isn't worth it. As of now, I plan to bring them along, put in the attic and make it the kids' problem when we are gone! Mom made the same items for me but these are the ones she made for herself. Nieces and nephew don't want them, either. Suggestions?
