Go to any Villages Golf Shops and purchase a cover to lockup your clubs, invest in a lock, and get into the habit of taking the time to lock your clubs upon leaving the Golf Course! Then enjoy the day after golfing! PS: put the lock key on your golf cart key ring.

Golf clubs being stolen off the back of a cart is not a problem until it is. Over the past years here in the Villages there have been suges of golf clubs being stolen even in the squares. It's just been quiet lately so everyone is complacent.
In my opinion there really isn't any reason to lug around your clubs when not golfing. But many go out to eat after golfing and that's a problem because thieves look out for these carts and will steal anything that they can get money for. Covers and locks will be a deterent but if they see your clubs and want them, they will take them no matter what you are using to lock them up. |

Place a Apple Airtag inside your bag. If it get stolen you'll be able to locate it.

I pull down the cart bag cover and secure that. It hinders single club and whole bag theft. Only takes a couple seconds. I feel that theft problem is too low to qualify for more deterrent than that.

We use the canvas locking cover. It loops around the basket frame and then loops through the handles on the bag. If we stay to eat after golf we stay parked in the golf cart lot, not the main parking lot. Otherwise, we don’t leave our clubs on the cart.

In addition to the canvas cover from golf central (which is great if you get a good lock), I use a bicycle cable lock to lock my bag to the golf cart. Theft may not be a problem, but why take a chance.

It has been clearly explained to me that upgrading my golf clubs will not happen until my current set is stolen.....plus an air tag in the bag makes that unlikely :)

Some where around 3500 rounds of golf played.
Back in the 80's, when classic golf clubs were worth real money, I carried a MacGregor Oil Hardened Eye-O-Matic 945W Driver that was easily worth $1000 and a George Low Wizard 600 putter, worth $2000. Played golf all over the USA & Ireland. I have never, not even once, heard of a golf club or a bag of clubs, being stolen. I'm sure it's happened somewhere though, I guess some folks want to be prepared for any eventuality. |
