Default Open play?

Can we newbies only participate in a rec event (like bunco, or zumba) when the rec listing indicates (open)? What does it mean when it says (mixed)?

I assume when it doesn't say 'open' that we are not invited because a group has already formed and they are at their max limit. Is that right?

Also are the pools open for the organized classes like aqua aerobics even if the outside temp is below 60 degrees??

Call the rec dept. for the correct answers.
