What was funny about it, those 4 people applauded me. I guess I was being nice, one of these times someone will park improperly & someone won't be as nice as I was!

Gotta love some peoples manners. Ole NY was lucky you were nice.

So, you purposefully inconvenienced other drivers who would somehow have to get around the golf cart you pushed out into the middle of the driving lane?

Yes, the cart driver was being very inconsiderate of you but ...?

I am editing because I am not quite sure what was meant by "the driving lane". If you meant something besides a lane in the parking lot, I apologize.

You're right. The middle of the fairway would've been a better place to leave it. Let the golfers practice using it as a green.:pepper2:

I will never park on the end where a car that is trying to parallel park can hit my cart while they are trying to park their car.

In the 11 years I have lived here I have watched people parallel park and hit a golf carts parked in the space both with the front of their car and the back of their car. In fact a high percentage of the time it is just interesting watching people attempt to parallel park period.

It's kind of like a free show, isn't it?

However I saw a gal parallel park recently and she did a perfect job. I complimented her and then had to laugh (as did she) because she said her car did it automatically. :)

Not picking on them but what are they paying them to do, just like on the golf courses, the ambassadors won't say anything to slow playing golfers about letting people play thru or tell them to move up to a closer tee box.

This is all untrue!

What is VLSI that was referred to in an earlier post

I have actually had an ambassador say something about what he thought was slow play. In reality, the two tee times in front of us were not filled which explained why there were two open holes in front of us. He was a bit embarrassed when this was pointed out to him but I was glad that he was at least willing to address what could have been an example of slow play.

We've had the same happen to us at Hawkes Bay twice. There had been 3 no shows before us but the starter held us till our time. We had gotten there 25 minutes prior but for whatever reason we had to wait.

Total lack of consideration.

so if it had been a car you wouldn't be upset? inconsiderate? he did create parking for 2 or 3 more carts....he had a right to any available spot, I know, darn!

How about using retention ponds for additional parking? Post signs saying "No gators allowed".

Sooooo, I parked where I could.
It's just not a big deal.

You hit the nail on the head. If the first cart has parked 14" from the line then you would be crowded to share that spot.

Here is the only parking protocol that exists: If there is an open spot in which you can fit your car or cart you are entitled to park there.
If someone was courteous and parked their cart aside another cart and left a spot open big enough for a car to get into -- then it's your lucky day.
If someone decided to park their cart in the next completely open space so that two carts took up two spaces, well perhaps they were not as courteous as they might have been, but there is nothing defective with them as a person.
And if you are in your car and drive by and see it, well it's the rub of the green for you to deal with. Don't we wish all of our problems were so big.
Let's try to be kind to one another -- online and in person!

I could use something like this for the watering holes in the carribean that you have to swim to. Great Idea.
