No such thing as a free anything--someone pays

Maybe he doesn't have celebrity Facebook friends or multiple degrees to brag about.

In 37 years in the working world, about half of that in high level supply chain (purchasing) jobs, I have NEVER seen an economy as good as this one. What really amazes me is despite the fact that everyone is REALLY busy, and having trouble finding new workers, they are not raising prices.

Talking with my suppliers on a daily basis I hear about all the reshoring they are doing to USA. I work for a "Made in USA" company, but many of my suppliers import from overseas and are working on moving large portions of that business back here if they can. The small percentage of what I do buy from China I have active projects to reshore in the next 6 months.

That is the real world. Not the Fake News.

Hope you are correct, but historically a booming economy in a sea of red ink (deficits) carries many many risks. The deficit grows.....as suggested we cannot just 'print more money"

You need to finance those deficits and the government will need to borrow money via the bond market. In order to attract buyers, the interest rate will be high which will make it all the more a bad situation.

Next domino is the corporate bonds, which will make it more costly to grow.

And maybe the most important is how do we fight off the next recession ?

Again, hope you are correct but history says otherwise.

50% cash free muni's, 25% high yield equities, 25% cash--what ever happens @ 76 years of age I'm bullet proof--no male in my family made it past 88- if I'm a record setter ,one thing for sure won't be sleeping under a bridge--even if the socialists take over-instructions to the Admiral- were don't change a thing and do not get married if I croak

I thought political threads were not permitted? This is (was) a "what time does the cart rally begin" thread.

And the rally is over so the thread should be closed

I find myself becoming increasing intolerant of those who are intolerant of the things I am becoming more intolerant of because of others intolerance.

Can't help myself so here goes;
-Chat worked his heinie off in the restaurant business and was able to cash out on the plus side. I say kudos to him. It's why he knows so much about fine dining. All of us did what we needed to secure our retirement. No matter what amount you ended up with, I say kudos to you for not sitting back and living on Uncle Sam's dime.

- Jumping to conclusions seems to be a growing trend. I did not take Chat's post as racist in the least. Fact is, if you study the candidate's positions, they do mirror a certain political persuasion voiced by our past President which has never worked anywhere in the world.

- Finally, I could care less whether there were 9, 20, or 200 golf carts on parade. Irrelevent in a community of 125,000. Just like 100,000 marching in D.C. do not represent 330 million Americans. All I know is, if you do not search your own soul and conscience; if you do not do your due diligence BEFORE you vote; and if you only want to blindly pull a lever, well then, you deserve the government you get.

Mods, you may now close this thread.

I read about fear of "socialism".......it appears that the option is only spend, cut taxes and allow the deficit to grow.

Anyone hear of the word...compromise ?

Used to be used quite a lot.

However, it requires to stop hating people because of their party of registration, and here is the kicker....talk to each other.

Used to be the choice of all successful companies, country's, and good people.

Then again, it appears that will take all the "fun" out of politics.....and isn't fun the main goal ?
