Exactly my point. There is basically no protection in a golf cart which isn't a problem if you are using it just to play golf but if you use it for transportation on a road or path as well then it's a whole other ball game. As far as an enclosed golf cart not being practical because you have to open the door to get out, I rather have this inconvenience than potentially getting permenantly injured going to a restaurant or the supermarket with an open cart.
