People have their own set of rules to live by

do you never knowingly exceed the posted speed limit in your automobile? Not even a little bit?

Wow! The reason I asked is I have read posts before about how expensive it is to get stopped going over 20, and heard of people getting ticketed for speeding in their golf carts.
Yet, when I go 20mph in my cart, most of the cart traffic is going 22-23 mph. It seems to me that if the police wanted to enforce it down to 20mph, they would run out of paper to write tickets on way before they ran out of speeders.
30 is crazy.

Only laws that we think should be enforced have any validity. The rest of the laws are stupid and therefore we will choose to ignore them. :)

You have to understand that if they stop you for exceeding 20 mph. it is not a speeding ticket. It is a criminal citation for operating an improperly equipped uninsured low speed vehicle. You can be cited for each equipment violation and it adds up quickly. It is also a mandatory court appearance.

Just gimme the ticket and lemme go! I gotta be on time for Aruba, I mean Zumba!

If you get a speeding ticket in a Golf Cart you are a BoneHead! If you get in an accident I feel sorry for you! If you get into or cause an accident while speeding you are a Double BoneHead! Live & Hopefully Let Live!

Get the person who got the ticket to post and then prove it with paperwork or else Forgetabouit! It's all a bunch of bull!

No.

To be honest, I sometimes accidentally exceed the speed limit. Like going 39 mph on Morse. When that happens, I immediately slow down to 35 mph.

At 22-24 mph VS 19-20 how much time is saved?
I say ticket as many as possible.
Let the tickets subsidize the extra police force to do so.

Rarely

Is there such a thing as a PBA card available from the Sheriffs in our area? I had forgotten about those helpful little cards. If you got lucky enough to get a Metal one from the Chief Of Police you were in good shape.

They probably have a card like that but if you have a Palm Tree on your property or can't stand 2 feet from a pond to fish then they know you are not a native and won't give you a Get Outta Jail Free Card.

I don't speed in my gas golf cart because its not safe and I can't in the electric cart because it won't speed, maybe it will tonight with the big a wind! :1rotfl::1rotfl:

Chill out cause nobody is going to change their driving habits at our age, very few anyway. :boxing2:

One of the presentations at the VHA New Resident Night (held monthly) is by the district judge. He lays out what will happen if you get a speeding ticket in a golf cart. Lots of other good info there, too.

Radar has to be calibrated. They can be off. Request a certificate from the police, if you go to court, that shows that the radar was working properly.
