I would be EXTREMELY irritated if I was behind a group of folks who had some kid playing. The Villages is not set up for anyone under 55. Take him to a miniture golf course.

:coolsmiley: I played my first game last week with no training. Got a par! This week I totally suck. I hope your grandson knows it may all be downhill from now. :icon_wink::1rotfl:

There are 12 year olds who are much better then many of the Villager hackers.

Got to agree.
Before our grandson found X-Box more enticing than golf, he had more than enough game for most of the Executive Course golfers we played with.

My 15 year old grandson shot a 77 at Havana. Much better than I do.

Excellent point. I always had a rules and etiquette segment in classes that I taught. It wasn't much. Maybe a few minutes at the end of session while emphasizing the importance of understanding the rules and etiquette.

The Villages Executive Courses are open to Villages residents AND THEIR GUESTS. The so called Champion Courses are simply public courses that are open to anyone.

There is a minimum age but younger people can get permission to play by being evaluated but one of the golf professionals. The Villages even has a Junior Golf Program.

I don't know where you get the idea that The Villages is only for people 55 years old and above. In fact, anyone over the age of 19 is allowed to live here.

Young people are the future of the game. I'd like to see as many of them playing as possible. I've played with a lot of over 55 residents who have no idea what they are doing on a golf course and in my humble opinion should be allowed on a golf course.

The problem is age it's experience.
