With trees growing to hide the powerlines the green belt behind your house could be a great asset. The football field of grass is great for privacy and views.

Too noisy
We walked by the power lines and discovered they are noisy. I don’t know if they are usually noisy, but you could hear humming and crackling. I didn’t care for that or the potential view.

The power lines in Water's Edge are very much smaller than the ones near Citrus Grove and Newell. Size matters, at least to me.
But most of this is moot as not only has the house in question sold, but also the OP has bought a pre-owned house in a different location (based on some other posts I have seen). |
It started out small in Newell

At the end of the day, the number ONE rule in purchasing Real Estate; LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!
If the public perception is negative, then resale will take you much longer and lower value. |

Aside from being ugly, they sizzle when it is humid or raining.

Underground electric cables weren't a thing in New England. All electric cables were on poles at the edge of the streets. It's really not an issue. It's not attractive, but it's also not an issue.
The only time it IS an issue, is if a storm blows the line down. Then it can be hazardous, because now you have live wires whipping back and forth on the ground until someone turns off the juice. But if the downed lines don't reach your property, the hazard isn't to you anyway. When a tornado rips a power line off the pole in the middle of a main road and the line is slithering back and forth across the road, THEN it's a big huge deal. |
geez, if you don't like the location, don't buy
simple as that. . the fact that you are posting about the power lines, means that you are uncomfortable, so don't buy and keep on looking |

Power lines in my yard would not be my preference but to me they are better than kissing lanais. If I found a house in my ideal area (whatever ideal is for me) then the power lines would be a consideration but absolutely not a deal breaker. |
