This thread has typically taken on a life of it's own. As far as a dog urinating on your lawn, it does burn the lawn. Perhaps, more of a problem it marks you lawn as a good place to use as a toilet. Sort of like posting your address and saying my home is a good place for your dog to go.

(the friendliest hometown apparently doesn't apply to everyone living here) She threatened to call the cops - really? I'd like to see how the police would respond that complaint. She should be more diligent though and be on the lookout for the squirrels, rabbits, birds and other wildlife that are also peeing (and pooping) on her lawn. Sheesh, what a grouchy you know what.

It ia against the law here to allow your dod to do its business on someone elses property. have you dog to its business on your own yard before taking it dog a walk for exercise

It has nothing to do with being grouchy, many people care about their lawns. I don't understand why people walk their dogs daily to purposely do their business in other peoples yards. Take the dog out and walk him around your own yard. I had a german shepard in TV for 8 yrs and I trained him to go in the backyard by a tree and then we would go for a walk ...

We have a dog and our dog goes in our yard prior to her walk. We had 2 other dogs prior to her and they were not allowed to pee or poop on anyone's yard! It's called RESPECT and they are not cranky.

Not sure why bring their dogs to the mail boxes in golf carts and cars then let them get out and go into the bushes and landscaping (that we pay amenity fees for) and let them pee and poop. Leave them in your car or golf cart when you get your mail! If you are stopping by to get your mail on your walk, leave them on a short lease while you get your mail! The postal stations are not a dog park!

Monday watched lady at mail station take cardboard and flip dog crap into the bush, really nice! Collier station.

Most owners in TV have sm dogs, so As long as poochie is on a leash out for a walk, that is what they do, pee and mark their spots. It doesn't hurt the lawn, it rains enough down here. Now be mad, if your wife walked the dog up to her bushes, that's another story. If the dog, poops, as long as they pick it up.

That's what a dog does, IF YOU LET THEM. I have a dog, my property is enclosed by an invisible fence. If someone walks their dog and it happens to pee on my lawn, I don't care either. However, this lady did care, and she has every right to expect her property not to be used as a toilet. Even if it rains (and it doesn't always in time to prevent a yellow spot), it is her property and it should be respected. Not everyone loves dogs like you and I.

A dog can be controlled and kept from another's property if/when they are only walked on the pavement away from the lawn! See it done every day by the considerate dog owners walking our block.

Totally agree, our dog only uses either our lawn, or one of the several common areas along our walk, and we always pick up after her. We never let our dog on others lawns for two reasons. First, it’s respectful of their property and the right thing to do. Secondly, and equally important, you never know when the last time a lawn service or pesticide company applied nasty cancer causing chemicals to the lawn. The health of our little girl is of the upmost importance!

How do you "when the last time a lawn service or pesticide company applied nasty cancer causing chemicals to the lawn" of the public areas you let your 'little girl' use as her rest area?

Where do some dog owners get the idea that is acceptable, and their supposed right, to disrespect another person and their property???? Do you not understand the meaning of private property? It isn't your property, you don't rent it, you don't own it, you don't pay the taxes on it and you don't pay to maintain it. How would you like if while you are at one of the town squares listening to the music and someone is setting on the hood of your car? They're not hurting it and they got tired of standing. STAY OFF OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY!!!!

In the newer and more civilized areas south of Route 44, dogs are banned from the postal and recreation areas.
