Listening to the President's news briefing, I could only remember some of the information in the guidelines. I downloaded them and read them a few times. I would encourage you to read them also, because I belief our lives will be affected by these phases for quite awhile. In some cases, the governor will turn to the county, who will turn to the local government to make decisions. In other cases such as schools, bars and nursing homes, the federal government has made the initial decision for the states.

People will be happy with parts of the plan, but no one is going to be completely happy. That generally is a sign of a good plan!

The words in those 3-phase step guidelines offered by the administration differs little from logic and what those is real command, like governors, mayors, city councils and commissions, have been doing already and will continue to do to protect us all---hopefully. But opening the beaches in Jacksonville today is irresponsible, and one has to wonder whether Florida's governor feels more comfortable sitting on the sidelines than stepping up and overturning what is about to happen there.

They’re doing a hell of a business out behind Palmer country club. Beer, hotdogs, and just good clean fun. They still have the tables and chairs set up on the back patio so you don’t have to sit in your golf cart.

I'm all in for any carefully thought through plan that get us to the new normal

it will take awhile....businesses that were financially on the edge will have a difficult time weathering this

what I hope doesn't happen after being cooped up for so long is that Villages embrace an attitude of 'damn the torpedo's, full steam ahead'

some airlines are not selling the middle seat....we'll have to wait to see if the renovations going on inside the theatre in Spanish Springs will include taking out every other seat and the odd numbered rows lol

It is time to Liberate the pickleball courts.

BOMBSHELL: New Coronavirus Study is a GAME CHANGER - TheBlaze

I listened to the video and it's astounding! It truly is a game-changer. I've heard others also state that the numbers of other studies are off. I generally think that fear has played a large portion in this thing. The virus is real, don't get me wrong BUT wonder "IF" ......think of positive scenarios in this. I know some will shoot me down. Just know as I say this---I have autoimmune issues that put me in the risk factor, along with age.

Beaumont Health and Henry Ford Health System in southeastern Michigan said they were caring for more than 1,000 COVID-19 patients at their 13 hospitals.

It’s a new virus. No one knows

You nailed it! It’s much too soon. His tweets yesterday about Virginia, Minnesota and Michigan were completely inappropriate. The protesters were NOT acting appropriately.

Actually I think the protestors have every right to complain. Virginia’s governor is trying to rewrite the constitution by banning 2nd amendment rights and applauding live birth abortions. Michigan’s governor is being a dictator and will not permit purchasing things like paint, grass seed and bird seed. In addition, if you have a 2nd home WITHIN the state, you are not permitted to go there even if it’s in a way more isolated area. I’d be protesting like mad!

Washington DC presents guidelines to the states for re-opening. None of the states currently meet these guidelines. Washington DC then starts tweeting that certain states should be "liberated," in violation of the guidelines they just presented. You can't make it up.

They didn't have the right to block the hospital. They didn't have the right to block the sidewalks, they didn't have the appropriate parade permits to march in the streets. They had the right to complain. They were also under ORDERS to maintain social distancing. They did not have the right to violate that order, which they violated.

If they had a complaint, they should've complained in a way that didn't threaten the lives of everyone else.

Nope. The 70’s chick in me says go for it. No permits are issued for a protest and blocking the streets is the whole point of gathering. I would have been there too. Everyone else didn’t participate so their butts were fine. Orders are suggestions when written by someone like their governor Whitmer.

The topic is the “opening up America plan”... some of the replies have attempted to take the discussion off track into the political arena. Please stay on topic.

Well DianeM, some of the beaches in Florida are now open. By all means, go on ahead over to them, and join the fun and frolic. Just please fumigate and sanitize yourself and your car before returning to the Villages, so that anything you picked up from those fun frolickers doesn't enter our community.
