I’ve been going to acupuncture once a week for a couple of years mostly it’s for keeping up my all around well being . Im athletic and my life was very physical so at 82 your going to have some parts that don’t work as well , acupuncture helps a great deal, but before I started I had developed a trigger finger and I was a month away from doctor appointment after second acupuncture visit it was gone , never to come back , I get a full body acupuncture not a targeted part

Could you share the name of your acupuncture clinic please?? Thank you.

Yes, I came down with this totally out of the blue one day and it finally got bad enough that I went to my General Practitioner and asked him for a referral to a surgeon. he said that wasn't necessary and he gave me a "cortisone shot" at the base of my finger in the palm of my hand. I won't mislead you it hurt like crazy but the pain only lasted a few few seconds. it took a few days and then miraculously my hand and finger are back to normal. This was at least 6-8 months ago and it is still fine.
Hope this helps,
Tim

Trish - Dr Harding did surgery on my hand. At the hospital they told me that people come from many other states to have her do surgery. She is really good - just have to wait a long time to get appointment - usually.

I had trigger thumb that started this summer and got worse. Went to Dr James Osborne and he recommended a steroid injection to see if that would work. Surgery was a possibility but the lesser treatment was the first option. Got the injection and it took about 3 weeks to finally go away for good. He said it might be a temporary solution and I could get an injection every 4 months for a year and after that it would be surgery. It has been 5 1/2 months and no recurrance. He was also in the Villages Health Medicare network. I never even think about it anymore.

I had two fingers and thumb as well as wrist for carpal tunnel on each hand and it solved the problems on both hands - but had it done in NJ

I know someone who uses Dr. Harding, she gives A Plus ratings to the doc. I’ve had trigger fingers in both hands, I had them treated up north with Cortisone shots. They have worked but I did get a reoccurrence in the left hand, the right hand has been fine where 3 fingers were treated with Cortisone shots. I was on the verge of having surgery done on my right hand I went as far as making an appointment, but my wife talked me out of it. I’m glad she did because the last shot solved the problem finger in the right hand.

As a side note I’m a pianist that has a steady piano gig and I’d hate to lose use of a finger despite my doctor up north telling me it’s a minor procedure. Ironically enough when I play piano the trigger finger does not bother me.

Have you checked into radiation instead of surgery? I went to Jacksonville and found out they are now doing this instead of surgery if you catch it early enough. You might want to check it out
