About 2006-08, went out for an early appointment (8 AM) and all the grass areas were covered in white but the roads melted and were just wet, as they stayed warm overnight. Snow on the palm leaves too. It was less than an inch but Ocala had more.

BTW, If you have an irrigation pipe that comes out of the ground and back down, cover it with blankets or styrofoam. You don't want that to freeze and crack.

Good news! I happen to own an authentic vintage show shovel of the snow-plow type that you will only find in authentic snow country. On the morning of Decebver 26, 1980 at Plattsburg AFB, I actually used this amazing device to locate my brother-in-law's MGB and dig it out from over four feet of snow that had fallen over night, in order to get him back to Brunswick Naval Air Station before his leave expired. With this marvelous tool, I was able to accomplish this amazing feet in a mere four hours of back-breaking labor!

I saw some minor flurries coming down in the back yard a couple of years ago. They landed on the grass, lingered for maybe 10 minutes, and then melted. Not enough to measure, it looked like a sparkly dusting just in a few spots where the grass had died and the brown dead vines remained.

I remember living in Tampa in 1977 when an inch of snow fell. It caused 200 car accidents by 11 am. I think that it melted in the afternoon. It would have been much safer for commuters if the City had somehow called off the early morning rush. I don't really know if there was snow in The Villages at that time. Also, I assume that The Villages may have just been The Village (singular) at that time and very small.

About 20 years ago in Florida we kept and used a plastic snow shovel to move loose dirt and gravel. You can't use it to put your foot on it and dig up some grass and dirt. It had a flat front edge, so it was designed for scooping loose material only.

This link talks about this Jan 1977 morning snow like it was just a super fun experience. Well, it was for those that did NOT have to drive to work. The problem was the early morning commute. The native Floridians had no idea how to drive in the snow and ice. If they had just waited a few hours, it would have melted off. As it was there were around 200 accidents caused by the snowy, slippery roads during commuting time. I remember that they had a winter driving expert on TV and radio trying to be helpful and explaining, "You have to turn your wheels in the direction of the slide". That advice seemed to be confusing to anyone that had NOT previously experienced sliding in a car on ice. I remember scenes on TV of multiple cars and trucks stopped and blocking everything on any uphill ON ramp.

Have pics on the golf course flurries in 2008, 2010, 2014. Mostly hit the ground and melted. But couple times the greens had a definite white dusting

As an Orlando native, only time I have seen real snow in this area was almost 50 years ago when I was in high school (1977). At a basketball game and someone came in the door and yelled it’s snowing. The game stopped and everyone went outside to scoop up snow off the cars for a snowball fight. Nothing really stuck, it was like only an inch and ground to warm. But as you can see it made quite an impression.
