Default Has your blog item disappeared?

A blog entry consists of personal commentary or descriptions of events. It is not generally questions about where to buy something or who to hired for a project.

If you have entered a blog item here on Talk of The Villages and it has not appeared, it is because your entry belongs in the forums as a normal post, generally in Contractors and Services.

We cannot move those items from the blog section to other sections of the forum.

Hi, Tony

So how do we get to the forums???

WE left a blog and apparently it disappeared as we can't find it again. We were asking questions about services.

Your suggestion is to leave these types of messages on the forums. We don't know how to find the forums. HELP HELP.....

You are in the forum right now, as you post.

Put your question about contractors and services, business or workmen, and the such in the Contractors and Services section of the forum.

Harvey and Lavelle - Welcome to TOTV!!!

Here's something worth browsing at your leisure: Click on "FAQ" in the toolbar that's close to the top of each forum page. The click on the various topics under "Board FAQ" to get additional insights on what to do and how to do things on the forum. I go there from time to time to look for answers to "How would I do this or that?" questions.

Hope that helps!

Did you discontinue the blog section?

Hi Lvlwallach,

Welcome to TOTV. We're glad you are here. Many of us were confused at first about how to start a new thread. Don't worry though, it's easy.

Here's how:
  1. On TOTV home page is a list of forums. Scroll down if necessary to find the appropriate forum. In this case, it sounds like you needed the "Contractors and Services Forum".
  2. Click on the appropriate forum to open it.
  3. Just below the ads at the top of the page, you will see a blue button that says, "New Thread". Click this button and a window will open where you can type your post.
Hope this helps.

lvlwallach- I had trouble finding the forum list also because when I open TOTV I am already in TOTV search Forums which just shows the latest posts . If you want to go to the homepage which lists all the forums look to the upper left of your page and click on "Talk of The Villages"

I have attempted to start three similar blog entries in the past 24 hours on this site. Not one has showed up. What am I doing wrong?

As a new user post and threads have a delay as they are moderated.

Default Hard to find Blogs

When I click on link to Member Blogs, I go to ***/forums/index.php instead of blog.php

Good catch, it appears to be redirecting to .index - we'll update this with our next maintenance.

UM, so please let me know if this is this the problem with my orevious three new thread attemps. A previous post indicated that new member's new threads are held up for admin approval. I hv no problem w this but I am curious, is something new with the new TOTV owners?

Thank you, a few questions please.
1. How long is the delay?
2. Does the delay vary based upon the post?
3. How many post does it take to be no longer considered a "new user"?
4. I really do not know but is this a new rule brought in by the new TOTV owners or has it always been in effect?
5.Redundant question: How long is the delay and why not post this up front?
