Default Where in the Villages is the most dog friendly place to own?

I have been looking at the Villages for some time and find the posts that pertain to dogs interesting. Where is the best place to live in the Villages that is the most accepting of dog owners and is overall dog friendly, especially larger dogs?

This should be any place, as long as you are a good neighbor and follow all of the rules for walking your dog, etc. Villas might not be a good idea due to the very small lawns.

generally speaking, courtyard villa areas have a good percentage of dog owners due to the fenced back yard. my villa in Duval has a pretty large back yard compared to the newer ones being built. We are very tolerant of dogs. there's also a couple of areas of houses with fences.

Look at Marsh Bend.

From what I can see, that area has a lot of grassy areas for you to walk your dog that are not too close to other houses.

The Veranda Designer Homes being built south of 44 have large fenced in yards which are great for dogs. There are also 2 dog parks in the southern villages.

The Villages of Springdale is right next to the dog park plus many dog owners take their pets into the woods right next door to the park. Piedmont is close by too.

We have lived in Sable Chase and Largo and neighbors in both areas have been great for our Golden.

Any place that has a large(r) yard. I would avoid courtyard villas, unless you can find one on the end or on a curved part of the street. South of 466a several homes were built with fenced in back yards. Any realtor can help you locate these homes. As VT posted above, any place is good as long as you are a responsible dog owner.

Yup but newbies here think they don't have to pick up in these grassy areas. When the grandkids visit and want to play in these areas is when the s×#@ will hit the feet!

It’s really up to you. If you’re dog isn’t an incessant barker and you pick up after him, all neighborhoods will be welcoming. If you are of the (as was said to me one time) “dogs bark, get over it” crowd, you’ll have a problem everywhere. Picking up after your dog is super important and not allowing him to poop on another’s property. It’s never the dog’s fault, always the owner’s fault. If you’re a good owner, TV will be very welcoming.
