Default Heat from Yamaha motor

The heat from the engine of my 2020 Yamaha is so hot that it burns my legs. Does anyone else have this issue? Any solutions to cool it down?

Are you talking about your backside or your calves touching the plastic
on the front side of the seat where the shifter is? If it's the front side it might be from the muffler housing leaking hot air forward. We have
split bucket seats and you can feel the heat rising between the seats after running for a while but not burning hot. Ours is a 2018 Yamaha by the way.

May sound foolish. A lot of missing information. Assuming you did not just get it, a year old? You want to think about what has changed. Is it a new problem? Has someone recently worked on it? It is an air cooled engine they tend to run hotter than a water cooled engine. If something is wrong with the cooling of the engine it can be damaged by the heat. Might be a good idea to take it in for diagnosis.

I am assuming the 2020 Yamaha is an EFI golf cart, if so, look at the red engine light when you turn it off the next time you feel the heat. If the light is flashing, the is an error code. The first set of long pulses followed by a second set of shorter pulses, this is the first digit and then the second digit of the error code. If they have not changed I have these for the 2017 model.

I have a 2021 Yamaha and yes, I feel "excessive" heat coming from where the soft seat meets the "seat box" next to the back of my legs. There is a gasket there, but some heat does escape. It does seem strange to me, but it hasn't been enough of an issue for me to take it to service. It's probably due to the features that keep it quiet.

If the heat build up is too hot for you, you may be able to remove the bottom plastic pan, 4 bolts, to allow for a lot more air circulation, note this may increase the noise level.

Heat does come out from in between seat and seat frame, but not hot enough to burn me. It is a minor inconvenience. Can not wait(probably never will happen) to be able to buy Lithium cart(EZ GO or Club Car) with 50 mile range for under 15K.

Good point! Maybe undo the plastic cover as mentioned in other posts for the summer then put it back on for winter.

IMO if the air cooled engine was overheating that much it would lock up. I think OP feeling engine compartment air that’s escaping on quiet Tec cart. I would just move my legs or get some window sealer and seal up the gap so the air pushes out some where else. Or as suggested remove the bottom noise pan.
