11:36 PM In Poinciana seems to be qualm here thunder in distance. Heard sirions about 45 mim ago but nothing now. NOTHING LIKE BACK IN FEBRUARY 2nd. The TV says it is in the winding down mode.

This would have been a great site on February 2nd.

SEEMS OK IN SULLIVAN VILLAS BY ALLAMANDA REC CENTER!!

WE MISSED THE LAST ONE BY 100 YARDS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PICKLEBALL COURTS BEHIND OUR HOUSE.
Don't see anything at this time.

We needed the rain but not the wind.

I hope this makes sense !ds

Heard that 3,000 homes in area may not have power. TV says 6 to 8 inches of rain in area?

Will let you know what is happening. Seems qualm at this time.11:46 AM

11:52 AM

TV Reports Eustis was hit hard. Don't know what that means. Seems most damage may be more that way than in The Villages.

TV says damage not anything like 2/2

It was strong rain but not like 2/2 from what I saw!!!

The radar looks like it may be past us!!

it is 11:58PM

WOW! I was so scared. This was my first experience. I cannot imagine what it was like in February. When the weather radio first went off I got some pillows and a blanket and went in the tub in my guest bathroom where there are no windows. After 10:00 I thought the worst was over, but then the warnings started again. Eventually I went to bed. Funny, I kept thinking of TOTV and wondering what everyone else was doing.

I was in the chat room last night and several got off the air due to lightning. I think that was between 9:30 and 10:30. Glad you folks did okay. Can't say the same about Eustis though. Weather Channel said 20 homes unihabitable and 30 with severe damage.

If you go to www.emergencyemail.org you can register your email address by county and get all of the warnings for your county. I register for Marion and Lake (using my wife's ID for Lake). It is pretty informative - with maps and charts, etc.

Quite a night. I finally found out that my weather alert radio does actually work. The alert sound went off five separate times up to 11:30pm. Until the new Sumter booster was put in my alert never sounded. Our taxes are finally paying off. Thank you, Sumter Commissioners and the VHA for making a substantial contribution to the alert system. (I usually do not commend the VHA for much - but they deserve it this time) :#1:

Hi,

Wondering if one has to buy special tornado damage insurance? Are there many tornadoes in this area?
