We saw them at Spanish Springs and thought they were very good. Looking forward to seeing them again.

It’s not a band per se, it’s a guy named Mike Hayes. Mike Hayes and High Tide. He sings and plays guitar. He’s good.

Not my style of music but they played and sang very well. We would go to hear them again.

Saw them last night at Brownwood. They would definantly be a good addition to the rotation. I would like to see some of the lesser talents eased out, but they probably get paid less.

Bit like advertising a group called The Teenagers, and leaving out Frankie Lymon! |

Stopped by Lake Sumter Landing to check out High Tide tonight after my evening swim. Was only planning on listening to a few songs and head home for dinner after the 8:00 break. They were great, so I grabbed some tacos from Lazy Mac’s and stayed until the show ended at 9:00. They are right up there with He Said, She Said (the band is no longer in the rotation) and The Hooligans as the best bands I have ever seen playing at the squares over many years. They played an excellent variety of music, but for me La Grange (ZZ Top) was the highlight. The guitar player was awesome! I will definitely go out of my way to catch their shows in the future.

When did the Hooligans start playing music from this century?

Last fall we saw them at LSL as Anti Idol. One of the alternate names they use. Most of what they played was 90's or later. Much of it was 2000 and later. Foo Fighters, Metallica, etc. The place was packed and people were standing the whole time like it was a rock concert.
Just shows, many people like newer music, instead of all that overplayed old crap. Not everyone wants to live in the past music wise. |

FROM THE VILLAGES OWN WEB SITE:
High Tide is a world class musical group consisting of musicians from around the globe. Be amazed by this high energy Rock 'N' Roll band bursting with raw talent. High Tide, created by front man Michael Hayes, captures the audience with his guitar and vocal skills. The pure talent provides a non-stop party, which is why they are central Florida’s go to Rock 'N' Roll band. |

Checked out some of their videos. Seems pretty run of the mill (Mony Mony - really?). If they were at Brownwood or Sawgrass where I could take my golf cart I would check them out. Otherwise, nope.

High Tide at Brownwood last weekend
This was the first time I've heard of this band so we went over to Brownwood to see if they lived up to the newspaper ad of "high energy rock", While I was raised on VH, Dio, Ratt, Dokken and what I consider great rock, this band was solid. Female vocalist, keyboards, bass, drums and an unbelievable guitarist/singer, Mike Hayes. I would rank this guy in the top 5 I"ve ever seen on a local stage. I nearly cried when they covered Black Magic Woman by Santana. This guy has a sound that needs to be heard and plays the guitar better than anybody who comes to TV. Wide variety of cover tunes with good stage presence and tight grooves. Will see again just for the guitarist if anything. Set list will appeal to most.
