Those homes have withstood many storms and are still in good shape.......

There are a lot of amenities available to The Villages residents that you cannot see and/or do if you live outside of here. The shopping and squares are just a tiny part of what makes up The Villages.........

Thanks Mrs Gracie, the value just doubled, I love it. Some are judged by the outside. Never judge a book by its cover. :ohdear:

Just kidding I know who it is. Lol.

IMHO-do not buy any manufactured home that was built before 95'--HUD came out with new specs after hurricane Andrew for manufactured homes--they learned a lot from Andrew

With all the new development going on down South, the Spanish Springs area is now the "Historic Side". Orange Blossom Hills is now the "Prehistoric Side". :icon_wink:

Years ago, someone asked a question about the prehistoric side with zcaveman in the same sentence.

I thought it was hysterical. :D

Historic section(can one replace/rebuild)?

On this topic, what are the restrictions(if any) on a new owner replacing or rebuilding on the site? Whether it's another mobile home, or a stick build? Thanks.

The developer is already buying up manufactured home/lots in the Historic Section and putting up stick/block homes. The covenants in the Historic Section are much less restricting than in the rest of The Villages so it's would probably be ok for you do that... but do a lot of checking of the covenants on the you home you consider buying before you commit. You might have to buy two adjacent lots to put up a conventional house.

Now why 'might' someone have to do that? Did the developer? - not on any new houses that I have seen there. The lots on the historic side are larger than in other Villages to begin with!

How big is a 'conventional' house?
