Question Historic Side Post Office

Is the US Post Office on the historic side still open? If so at what time?

Yes, it's still open. M-F 9-4 and Sat, 9-12 if I'm not mistaken.

The plane is to move it a few yards from where it is and redo the parking and some other buildings, but I believe that it will remain open, possibly in a temporary facility while this is being done.

I can't see how they're going to close a facility that services 4,000 homes.

Maybe they'll erect the new building before they tear down the old one.

While that P.O. is convenient, I almost never use it as its lines are unbelievable. The last two times in there the line looked like it was December 20. If you drive another mile or so to the main P.O. on CR25, the lines are usually shorter, and it has a self service kiosk that is really convenient. It does most everything that a clerk can do.

But one needs a car to get to the main P.O. and only a golf cart to get to this sub-station !

With sufficient trips, one can learn to spot the times where the "wait time" is greatly reduced.

I am afraid we are on the same wavelength, Nucky. That might not be a good thing according to some people.

That 441/27 Post Office was usually quite crowded around Christmas. Did not make for a good alternative to the one on 25 as the lines were similar.

It's fine by me Tal, according to me and that's all that counts.

We mailed ourselves a letter from the 441/27 Post Office and drove directly to the Route 25 bigger Post Office and mailed ourselves a letter from each spot. Route 25 letter reached us 2 full days before 441/27. The reason we did was a Birthday card to one of the Grandchildren took 8 days to reach NJ and was sent from 441/27. The people at both places are great but the service is slower at the small one according to our unscientific test. Your results may vary.

LOL The last arch. rendering I saw had the bldg sited along Griffin [rear of bldg on Griffin] with a somewhat horseshoe driveway in front of it with parking spaces designated on both sides of the driving lanes! To me it looks like the only "drive thru" is gonna be in those lanes when cars and carts drive into each other! I'll be getting my mail after 6pm daily! lololol And if I hafta mail a pkg - I'll use the P.O. in Oxford and stop in Gio's for lunch and a few groceries and maybe go to Brown's market for sugar free jam and cheese curds and then a stop at the Oxford casino! lololol
