If that statement is an attempt at humor, it was lost on me. If it was a statement of your actual opinion, I am astonished.

Don

What the Heck. The owners rates go up and what the Heck they pay out your nose for the next 3-5 years for someone else who was at fault.

Not to mention trying to match the paint.

Insurance is not a get outta jail free card.

Green Golf Cart

The Green Golf Cart will most likely need repair. Possibly a frame that supports the top along with front end damage. The driver may reside north of 466 along the Morse Blvd area. I suspect he's in hiding. The car is at a body shop with damage estimate pending. I'll post results once received.

Thanks to those for the tips. They're being investigated.

vet/cart

Glad your wife is ok. Hate to see the vet hurt, but it can be fixed. But I know it hurts.

Bumping this. I was just thinking as much as I would hate another rigamarole we may have to have something like a license number on our carts for reasons just like this.

Does anyone know someone with a green golf cart that appears damaged or who is not using their green golf cart?

I feel awful about this, Steve.

I'm sure someone will post a comment about "big brother", but I am not opposed to a registration of our carts, including a tag of some sort.

4:40 PM on Morse near San Marino close to the Mailbox Center, my wife was south bound in a gray Corvette black top convertible when a green golf cart made an abrupt left turn hitting the right front wheel and proceeded to slide down the passenger side of the car. Her first reaction was that the gentleman was injured. She pulled off the side of the road and the guy made a U turn and headed off in the other direction. He was wearing a straw hat with a black band. The golf cart was green. It has to have some serious front end damage. A witness tried to find him but without success. We have a witness statement but would like for anyone with information to contact me.

The green golf cart driver may have injuries. Although Corvettes are fiberglass, it still takes quite a bit of force to punch holes in the quarter panel, tear a mirror off, and shove the door back so it won't open. :rant-rave:

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate accident. But I must confess I don't get how it happened. Something seems to be left out of the description of how it happened.

You said your wife was south bound on Morse but didn't say that the golf cart was also south bound on Morse. If they were both south bound, how did the golf cart slide all the way down the passenger side after hitting the right front wheel? I don't get it. Perhaps someone can explain it.

On Morse Blvd., golf cart lane on the right - golf cart attempts a left as the car is passing by (both traveling south) - cart hits the RF fender - car going at a faster rate of speed.....cart scrapes entire right side of car.

At least that's the way I read it - - -

Bill :)

They are real people and good people too who I am sure planned to take care of this very nice car for a long time.

I feel so bad about this happening.

I "sort of kinda hope" that our poster friend Villageshooter makes attempts at a bit of Satire in his posting from time to time. If that is so, no problem even if I disagree. One thing for sure, I know a golf cart is no match for a car and the right thing was done by stopping and attempting to see if anybody was hurt. Good luck in solving this issue.

Thanks, I got it. That means the roads are dangerous because we can't count on other drivers to do what we expect them to do. They're always doing the unexpected.

Exactly! Anticipate and plan for the worst and hope something better actually happens.

Question

Was the golf cart street legal or did all of this happen north of 466?
So sorry about your car, maybe driver of cart will come forward soon, hope so!

Mikitv 07-19-2012 12:13 PM

Glad to hear your better half is okay. I mean your wife and not the vette. Hope they find the guy. He is going to need repair on his cart for sure.

That is north of 466 and I have always said that area is a accident waiting to happen. Unfortunately for Ms F 16 it happened on her watch.

Insurance Adjuster Call

Originally I guessed the amount of damage to be around 6K. The cost to repair the vehicle is $6274.35 - This does not include 2 weeks of car rental.

As Gracie Girl said

Does anyone know someone with a green golf cart that appears damaged or who is not using their green golf cart?
