I could see having a pool if I was into swimming. It's convenient and you know who has been peeing in it.

Were I a new buyer here, I'd be VERY leery about buying a resale that has carpeting. Even if it looks and smells OK all that may mean is that the carpets had been cleaned before it was put on the market. A month or two later could reveal some very unpleasant surprises to the new owner. |

Plus I love reading the paper or a book & enjoying the sound of the waterfall. When we entertain at night everyone comments on the pool’s colored lights & soothing sounds. During the summer, after golf or gardening, nothing beats jumping into our own pool |
The value of most upgrades depends on who wants them. We have a central vac that we had installed when we built the home. We think its great. The big advantage is for people with allergies. This is our second home with a central vac. We notice a significant difference.

While I might not want a pool, I certainly would consider a swim spa. Just float or get some swimming exercise.
