Tweedle Terrace and Spurlock way
When I was last at TV (August) it looked like the rest of this part of Marsh Bend was being built but Spurlock near Tweedle Terrace and Tweedle terrace itself weren't being built on. Does anyone know is that now built out? Were they lots that had been sold already? Thanks

Built, sold, moved on. There are a few unbuilt lots, all but 2 are sold. There is also one sec home for sale. Attached is the map of what is open, of course in The Villages these could all be gone tomorrow.

Don is correct.
We purchased a spec home on Brooks in this neighborhood last August when the homes and lots were first made available. Since then, the construction has been non-stop. Only 2 lots on Avidon, and one home on Brooks still available. Still lots of construction underway, but for people who have already purchased. If you visit The Villages app or website, and flip the "Pending" switch, you'll see all the homes nearing completion. It's a great neighborhood close to Cattail, Pitch&Putt, Edna's, Lowland's Executive Golf, and the Hogeye Sink trails. The homes are surrounded by holes 1, 2, 8, and 9. There are also several Designer model homes on Spurlock, along the Lowland's 9th fairway that will eventually be offered for sale. If interested, see your favorite Villages sales person for info and a tour. The people here are great, and I maintain the neighborhood directory. Message me if you have any specific questions. Mike |

Ok, thanks, I check the site frequently and guess I just missed the listings for that one section when they got listed.

From what I learned from some neighbors, many lots sold within minutes. On Avidon and Spurlock bordering the golf course, lots went quickly. No spec homes, except for the Designer models.
Tweedle went quickly, but there was an opportunity to buy lots at great prices. Snapped up quickly. There were also a few spec homes that sold quickly. We were lucky. Got our spec home on Brooks within a few days of being listed. And it was fate that got us here. We came down in August to look at homes between 466 and 466A. Looked at 40+ pre-owned, and just weren't happy with any that met our needs. Our realtor showed us Avery thing we had selected from MLS and The Villages app. After that, a visit with a friend who lives south in Groveland asked why we weren't considering newer homes south of 466A, and in Fenny. When we visited in Feb/Mar 2019, we did take a quick look at Fenny, and did not find it very interesting, and it was far from everything. Even Brownwood Paddock area seemed to quiet when compared to Sumter Landing. So after our friend's suggestion, we gave the area north and south of 44 another look in August. All that sand had homes being built. As our sales guy wasn't available that day, we stopped at the Fenny Sales Office, and asked for any sales guy that could show us the newest homes. He showed us Marsh Bend. We were hooked by the Southern Oaks, the Hogeye Sink, the Pitch&Putt, Edna's, and all the walking trails. The next day, we connected with our sales guy, looked at homes around Lake Deaton, Linden Isle, and Marsh Bend. We made an offer that same day, and here we are. We closed in September, spent a few weeks in October and another week after Thanksgiving. We had originally planned to be part-time, but those few weeks convinced us to sell our Oregon home, and become full-time residents here. If you check out the map, this neighborhood in Marsh Bend with Avidon, Spurlock, Brooks, Hoffman, and Tweedle streets looks like a "foot". Some of the sales people called it that, too. Some call it "The Island". Back in October, we talked with a few neighbors, dubbing it the "Marsh Bend Sweet Spot". Once all this social distancing subsides, we neighbors will get a chance to socialize again, and perhaps agree on a proper nickname. Keep your eyes open, as those Designer models here will eventually be listed for sale. A price has been set for each home, so check with your favorite sales guy to find out when. |

"Pending" means sold, but not closed yet.
Of course, it's possible that someone could change their mind and cancel, but they'd likely forfeit any deposit made. Last edited by M2inOR; 04-12-2020 at 11:39 AM. |
