Villages Insurance found me my home owners, golf cart and car insurance. They go to multiple insurers to find you the best price. I've been very happy with them.

Because of the number of claims that resulted from the tornado, ASI hired private adjustors to augment their own staff. He looked at all we showed him and then showed me some things that I had not seen (glass fragments in my kitchen cabinets, scratches on my sliding glass doors, and some cracked tiles in the shower). We had done a lot of the clean up ourselves and had purchased a wet vac, large paper trash bags, and all sorts of cleaning equipment. He asked us for the receipts and asked us to estimate how many hours it had taken us to do it. We gave him all the needed info. Two days later we received a call from the him asking us to come to the Villages insurance office. We went, thinking that he needed more info. When we arrived, he had a check for $8,000.00 to "get us started." Included in the check was the money for all of our cleanup supplies, plus an hourly fee for doing it ourselves. All in all, we felt very good about all of the care that we received from ASI, including their sending him out again when we found some other problems that neither he or us noticed at first.
Just a note, some of our neighbors had terrible times with other insurance companies, including one who had the adjustor agree to replacing his whole roof as the house was less than 6 months old and the damage was to almost 50% of his roof. Two weeks later, he received a notice from his insurance that the adjustor no longer worked for them and that they would not be replacing his whole roof, but only the 50% that had been damaged and that they were negating other decisions that he had made. This went on for 10 months. Another neighbor had a mechanic's lien placed on his house because his insurance decided after the fact that they would not pay for his gutter repairs because he added them after buying the house!

Can you post their phone number and address? Thanks

My ASI policy is handled through the Villages Insurance.

Bryant 02-04-2012 12:56 AM

Villages Ins. (Sumter-Marion Ins.) 352-753-0093. My ASI policy for a 1540 sq. ft. designer with $500 hurricane & $500 other peril deductibles costs $846. $235 of that premium is for sinkhole coverage.

Is ASI still writing new policies? Heard they were not.

Its not apathy...its knowing when to fight and when not to. I have an insurance plan with ASi and paying a bit more is not going to break me or you or anyone else. We KNOW ASI pays when there is a claim...that is worth more to me then paying less now and then having to fight with the company when it is time to pay a claim.

Then according to your logic you probably would have been anxious to pay an additional 32% for your home. After all it would be worth it to you paying less now and than not having to fight with the warranty department when it was time to take care of a claim. Seriously? Like I said, if I can't find an equal or better (key words - equal or better) deal then I'll stay with ASI, but to me it makes sense to at least take the initiative to check it out. I have NEVER doubted the quality of the ASI product.

Apathy - allowing others to do unto you without question or concern on your part.

Wisdom-knowing what is important and what is not important in the grand scheme of things.ie: worrying about a couple of hundred dollars to keep an excellent plan. Faulty logic-extrapolating a conclusion from insufficient data ie: taking what I said above and saying that logically I would then pay an additional 32% for the house. I don't follow what you wrote; I think you left out a word or two. Common sense...letting you draw whatever conclusions you wish because I don't really care.

That's what I think as well. As fate would have it, we got our insurance bill today. It went up $168. $14 a month. $3.23 a week. I don't get all wound up about $14 a month....don't see any point in that. I already wrote out the check and am just fine with the new rate.
