Default Hooray!!! Ribbon curbing to be installed in Crestwood Villas

We received a "door knocker" today from VCDD announcing that "ribbon curbing" will be installed starting March 16th. This is such good news because the Zoisia grass is so invasive and has been damaging the asphalt streets that are not protected by concrete. I would hope that other communities without curbs will be having the ribbon curbing installed also.

What exactly is ribbon curbing? Sounds like you really needed it, I'm glad it will be installed.

I googled "ribbon curbing" images and it looks like it is the typical curbing that is throughout TV. I haven't driven through other patio village communities but I would think they also do not have curbs like Duval.

As it is now in the Duval Crestwood Villas, our front lawns are level with the street. I'm not so sure how it's going to look with a curb that is higher than the street level. This is going to be interesting to see how they rectify this situation. Too bad TPTB didn't realize that the Zoisia grass was so damaging to asphalt. The curbs should have been installed before the ground was graded.

The door knocker didn't say what material will be used for the "ribbon curbing" but I would imagine it will be a material that the Zoisia grass can't penetrate. Concrete seems the likely material as all the curbs in TV are concrete.
