Default House Color

I was looking at a house to purchase in the Villages and the one thing that I considered doing if I bought it was to change the color. It's a bright pink right now and I would like it to be more of a neutral or biege color. I am aware that there are certain restrictions in the Villages, but is changing the color of your house one of them?

There was no problem changing our shutters from black to green. No review of approval was required.

I personally think you should get a commendation for changing from hot pink to anything except maybe purple polka dots!

Default No restrictions

When a neighbor was considering painting her house pink, we wondered whether there were restrictions on house color. The answer is no, you can paint your house any color. Now I don't remember how I learned this, but I'm sure I checked with someone of authority. Just in case it matters, this is a home in Virginia Trace. May be differing rules for different locations and home vs CYV etc.

When we first talked about moving to TV (many years ago) they made a point of telling us that they were very fussy about the house colors. To the point that no two homes could be painted the same color on the same block.

When I went through the home design of my home, there didn't seem to be any issue as to what other colors were on my block.

there must be a governing body dealing with this. I am surprised you wouldn't have to get it reviewed before changing colors.
