We have the Village Ins Co for our house and golf carts. They just dole us our home insurance is going up $57 to $902 for the year because our replacement value was increased. The looked at our gold carts and offered us a new policy which was cheaper but I will not use Progressive for anything so I passed.

Just looked at my new homeowners policy online from Tower Hill. On my next policy renewal in May, my home valuation will go up a little over 7%, and my premium will go up 74%. We've been here 12 years and have never had a claim. I called The Villages Insurance, and they will get back to me to see if there is another company with a better rate, but I don't expect much. Since 2016 my premiums have gone up 300%. We bought the home new, and it will 12 years old in June

And these rises are going to continue to rise faster than normal inflation, especially if Florida gets hit by a hurricane. Florida dodged a bullet in 2019 when hurricane decimated Freeport.

I got quotes from The Villages and Progressive was the best. I then went to Progressive (online) and got the same policy for a few hundred dollars cheaper. If you can't get quotes or apply for insurance online, then pay the extra and have an agency do it for you.

The Villages Insurance is not your friend.

Keep shopping. Need at least 6 quotes. No rhyme or reason for the pricing. Varies wildly. Villages insurance should give you a few choices to start

That's like asking "where is the best pizza" or "what is the best flavor ice cream." You will get 1000 "so and so is the best or cheapest." Spend a few hours getting quotes. We had quotes from $700 to $2000 for the identical "apples to apples" coverage for a 2/2 just north of 466A. For us AAA was among the highest amd Travelers was the lowest. Comparing other posters prices without knowing EXACTLY what coverage, size of home, location etc they have is meaningless. Homeowners insurance in FL is a disaster in and of itself.
