Default Temporary Passes

:dontknow: My wife and I have just bought a ranch over at Amelia Village and unfortunately, like many others, I can’t quite retire permanently yet and will have to rent it out when we can’t be there…My question is, how do renters acquire their temporary I.D. passes? What is the process? Any help would be appreciated…we will be back the first week of December, but would like to know sooner if possible.

Default Re: Temporary Passes

Call or e-mail The Villages for accurate information, but you must surrender your resident pass and then the renter can get a pass for a $50.00 fee. Most rental agencies will handle it for you. Renting done by you requires working with The Villages. It is a simple act, but a controlled one. The Villages will rent new units for a year or two, but they have high standards and the annual contract is expensive. Local agencies like Grizzard are good, easier to deal with and charge less. Be aware that Florida has unusual taxes in some rental situations. If you claim it as a rental and use the rental personally, there are also tax implications, but some can get around pro-rating use by paying rent themseves when they use it. Welcome to TV.
