I LOVE Tinker's mentality of repairing versus throwing away. God bless you Tinker.

I have visual pickup problems
sometimes. I always thought
in marvel that he was the Village tHInker. I guess both
names would work for him.

Good morning

Good morning - how are your plumbing skills? Last night after dinner my not 1 year old disposal seemed to stop working? The water would not go down the drain. I ran to Walmart bought a plunger but the dang plunger (I bought super deluxe instead of stand one) didn't really plunger? Any chance you could take a look at it?

What a great guy!

He helped me out with LED lights on my golf cart, after I saw his posts in this forum. What a great guy. I enjoyed talking with him about his work experience, while he was tinkering on my cart!

Plumbing skills are reasonable, but you probably have a buildup in the drain after the garbage disposal. This happens if grease is poured down the disposal. I would suggest getting a bucket, and placing under the drain line and removing the trap to see if it is plugged. If so either clean it out or replace.
I may be able to help, send me a PM (private message) so we can talk over the phone and set up a suitable time.

How to contact Dan the Village Tinker

Did someone say Recliner!? My husband broke the leg extender on his electric recliner last week. It has all the bells and whistles and was only 3 years old but we figured it wasn’t repairable, so we checked out 3 furniture stores for a new one and none of them would take the broken one when they delivered the new one. Thrift shops, same answer.
Enter Dan, the Villagetinker. He responded immediately and came over, diagnosed the problem, a broken plastic mechanism, that couldn’t be repaired…..but wait! He made a new part from metal, made several trips to fit it perfectly and it works now, better than before because it’s a custom made replacement metal part.
We are amazed at his talent, his kindness, his availability and ingenuity. What a great resource for those of us who aren’t mechanical and can barely screw in a lightbulb. Becky and Sam say Thanks Dave! You saved

Skylights

[QUOTE=madelonrtyler;2232208]. Since we’re on the subject of home repairs I’m wondering if Skylights are utilized in TV. We have them in our PA home. During our hot summers we open them to let some heat out & create some nice air flow through the house. Thanks

It should come with a wrench that you use to reset the disposal.

If this was directed to me, I can tell you I have seen a few skylights, have no idea if any of these open. I would suggest you contact some of the local roofing companies to see if they have any ideas, or any of the companies that install solar tubes. IMHO, with some of the winds we get and the very heavy rains I would not suggest units that open.

A/C is utilized down here in Florida. Thank goodness for that cool air. We don't open any windows in the summer months.

Count me in as a fan. There are plenty of knuckleheads on here, but Village Tinker stands out for his helpfulness. I always read his posts. He is a valued member to our community.
