Went for the first time yesterday. WHAT FUN! Next time though I know to go to the bread line FIRST. Took forever to get to the front at which time I bought far too many loaves of bread and some amazing sweets. Loaded with bread and tomatoes, I headed for the car but reluctantly passed up stopping at the home made pasta booth :) garlic herb parpadelle? I can't wait for next Saturday. I don't know who is worried about health risks. There are way more health risks associated with processed food from supers than home grown fruits and veges and organic cheezes and whole grain breads. Go for it!

Stop by the Purple Carrot (Organically grown produce). They're fairly new, ask them about their pre-order system as it will be cool once they work the kinks out. You order/pay a week ahead of time online, then pick your items up the next week already bagged for you! They do have a website...so google it.

No, I didn't get paid to tell you all about this. Just love really good produce and if it's organic, all the better!

Have gone to the market with my wife's mother & dad ever since we arrived. Love the fresh fruits & veggies.

I don't care if people rave on about how the cucumbers were tasteless and someone bumped into them on purpose and someone was sitting in their chairs, like in the three bears. I just love Brownwoods Farmers Market and I wanted a thread about it that didn't sound like a fight was about to start.

I must agree with you! These vendors are friendly, polite, helpful people earning a living wage. You go, you see, if you like you buy, if not.....Oh Well.

Well, I have to say I'm really looking forward to going!
Is it just a morning market or does it run all day?
Thx!

NotGolfer, can you post the url for their web site? I googled it but came up with nothing. Thanks for any help. Pre-ordering online sounds fantastic.

Be thankful that you can go to a nice outdoor market in February. My health hazard here today is maybe falling on ice from the freezing rain.

Just returned from the Farmers Market and bought Kohlrabi, leaf lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes and eggplant from our favorite vegetable folks, the one on the corner, two young couples with their little kids and the grandmother too.

I have never been disappointed buying from them. They remind me so much of the folks in Ohio when I was young, that made their living growing and selling stuff, and their little ones entertain themselves in the back of the booth and are always so well behaved and polite when you speak to them.

Sweetie got three kinds of cookies at the cookie stand and we got a small bag of oranges and some strawberries. Total outlay for todays trip was $16.00.

Ran into Skyguy and Eileen and Jakel from TOTV. Saw a number of darling pups, big and small.

I love that place. It makes my heart smile. After lent I will try the homemade fudge.

Gracie, just wanted to let you know that the Doc at the emergency room said that Jackel, Eileen and I are going to be alright!

Gracie, is the Farmers Market very crowded on Saturday mornings? I was going to wait to try it after the high season. BTW, did you get the pm I tried to send you? I am just learning how to use this site, and I think I screwed up (AGAIN)

I also LOVE the Brownwood Farmers market. My favorite is the avocado's but all of the fruits and vegetables are good
