I am having the same message this morning

I have tried to open several articles and only get the warning.

Is this being corrected?

DonnaNi4os 02-09-2022 08:52 AM

Yes, I am receiving the same message. I have XFinity (Comcast)

juddfl 02-09-2022 09:09 AM

Yes, I have been getting this message also. I have Comcast (Xfinity). I hit proceed anyway. Wish I could get rid of this warning.

Comcast' s attempt to push their browser security software. It started to appear only for this site a few days ago. I turned it off - Google Comcast - Advanced Security, Off.:coolsmiley:

I got it a couple times last week and I use Comcast. Doesn’t happen now though.

Advanced Security

That is a new "feature" Comcast has enabled inside your router/modem. It only apparently applies to certain of the modem/routers they deploy and is manufacturer-dependent. I learned the mystery of this after a lot of research. It is annoying, but benign and can be disabled if you feel your security protection is already adequate.
There is apparently some difference between the Xfinity designation and the "xFI" description and/or app but if you log onto your Comcast account and click enough choices you'll eventually bump into one titled "Connect" and that is where you can disable "Advanced Security"

Zuckerberg has something to do with it

CJH929 02-09-2022 11:29 AM

Disable ‘Advanced Security’ on your Comcast or Xfinity app.
I had the same problem and it disappeared when I disabled Advanced Security.
It has something to do with the TOTV certificate. Supposedly it doesn’t meet the new higher standards imposed by Comcast/Xfinity. Not a big deal IMHO.

For those who didn't know:

Notice that your link above is a "secure" url, denoted by the S at the end of https. The other link as listed by the OP is not a secure url. This is not necessarily a problem if you're not on a page/site that is asking for personal info such as for a credit card purchase or banking, etc.. But it could be nefarious in some cases. You should never enter sensitive info on a page where you don't see the padlock symbol followed by https://, in the address bar of your browser.

Same for me

Just started getting this notice about a week ago when I click on the daily e-mail from TOTV. Don't get it when I type in the same URL as the e-mail link. Not sure why this is happening but I'm sure it's scaring people off the site.

Same here. Xfinity internet only. Newer iPad with latest iOS. Same message for the first daily access attempt, then no more the rest of the day. Problem is there’s no way to override the message. You have to click on the accept option or it just hangs there. Can’t go forward OR backward. Very frustrating.

I believe your message is caused by a redirect URL link in the [daily] TOTV email link where the publisher is tracking the source (you) via your TOTV email message to the main TOTV website. Notice the page link in the email and the page URL where you read the TOTV thread. They are different. Many website publishers do this redirect tracking for mainly marketing purposes. Your risk message is likely being generated by either your device or Internet provider.

I get a similar message occasionally related to the daily TOTV email and don’t worry about it. When I do, I hit the refresh icon in my browser’s URL window and it takes me to the TOTV webpage I want.

At least with Windows it typically means : a) your internal clock may need to be reset
B) site may not have latest security certificate
C) cookies may not be saved or old
Good luck .

Thank you for this answer makes sense. I have xfinity for my internet and only get the message if connected to Wi-Fi.
