I guess that beats calling them "Love Bugs"

it takes 15 minutes from Dunedin. I drove to the new homes via cart from dunedin and it was another 15 to 20 minutes.....30 to 35 minutes would be my guess. The problem is, and Osceola is in the same boat, you have to drive so far out of the way to get anywhere sorta like Calumet.

Relax folks, the names have been chosen. If you wish to refer to the area as "The Villages of Fruitland Park" you are free to do so. Move on.

People were just having fun with it. No relaxing needed.

Yes that is correct but when we purchased our home fully furnished the cost was with furniture included. When we closed the furniture was written up desperately.

There is nothing worse than having desperate furniture. What had it done?

You can spot a voice to text user. I use google's a lot. But it can get you into trouble.

The lounge chair couldn't find work.
The dining table had to go on a diet.
The chair rail, railed.
The French Provincial chair needed a translator.

Anyone notice there are no open houses in Pine Ridge today? Could all the recently released new homes be sold already? Didn't they originally say that the new Fruitland Park area would be sold out by the end of 2015?

There are open houses today in LaBelle, Dunedin, Charlotte and Alden Bungalows, so don't think a holiday week-end has anything to do with it.

joldnol 05-23-2015 06:56 PM

we rode through it yesterday and saw at least 4 sold

We live down the street in Labelle North. It is only ten minutes up Morse to LSL and twelve minutes to Brownwood going across Hillsborough....yes, LOCATION! LOCATION...we love it!

Colony Plaza is 3 minutes by car!

By car or by golf cart (not the colony comment, the LSL and Brownwood parts.)?

I drove by there a few days ago. It looks like it is a long, long way from anything. I was also thinking that if one were to buy there now, you'd be putting up with construction dust for the next six to twelve months.

I also find it odd that they are starting at the furthest point out and building inward. I would think that it would be easier to sell homes that are close to anything. I wouldn't want to live where there is mile of undeveloped dirt between myself and the next house.

It had to be by car.......unless they had a small jet engine attached to the cart....lol.

A wise man will back himself out of a situation rather than box himself in. The new residents may not let the developer leave once they find out how long it's gonna take to get anywhere. [emoji33]
A wise buyer in this area will check a flood plain map, lots of low lying areas subject to flooding. Right now they are building in the hills, further to the west it gets a little wet.

I would hope the new residents would check distances and flood plain BEFORE they purchase if they are that wise man/woman.

Our observations are moot since this is the Villages and they will sell regardless of anything except maybe a sink hole pandemic [emoji267]

I have found that

One would just wait a very short time and the gap would be closed.

Remember there was NOT a single house built south of 466A just a little over three years ago.

To give credit where credit is due, it was skyguy79 who came up with the FRUIT FLIES label on 9/27/13 in the first post in this thread:

The entrance via car is actually not that far to Colony Plaza. And they could use more business!

You are correct. Can't wait to welcome another 4000 customers shopping at Publix at Colony Plaza.
