Relax folks, the names have been chosen. If you wish to refer to the area as "The Villages of Fruitland Park" you are free to do so. Move on.

People were just having fun with it. No relaxing needed.

The dining table had to go on a diet. The chair rail, railed. The French Provincial chair needed a translator. |

Anyone notice there are no open houses in Pine Ridge today? Could all the recently released new homes be sold already? Didn't they originally say that the new Fruitland Park area would be sold out by the end of 2015?

There are open houses today in LaBelle, Dunedin, Charlotte and Alden Bungalows, so don't think a holiday week-end has anything to do with it. |
we rode through it yesterday and saw at least 4 sold

I also find it odd that they are starting at the furthest point out and building inward. I would think that it would be easier to sell homes that are close to anything. I wouldn't want to live where there is mile of undeveloped dirt between myself and the next house. |

I guess the Village of Fruitland Park was a working title.

A wise man will back himself out of a situation rather than box himself in. The new residents may not let the developer leave once they find out how long it's gonna take to get anywhere. [emoji33] A wise buyer in this area will check a flood plain map, lots of low lying areas subject to flooding. Right now they are building in the hills, further to the west it gets a little wet. |

Our observations are moot since this is the Villages and they will sell regardless of anything except maybe a sink hole pandemic [emoji267] |
[QUOTE=Dr Winston O Boogie jr;1064605]I drove by there a few days ago. It looks like it is a long, long way from anything. I was also thinking that if one were to buy there now, you'd be putting up with construction dust for the next six to twelve months.

Remember there was NOT a single house built south of 466A just a little over three years ago. |

The entrance via car is actually not that far to Colony Plaza. And they could use more business!

You are correct. Can't wait to welcome another 4000 customers shopping at Publix at Colony Plaza. |
