Again not an expert on electrics, but in addition to looking for one that keeps its speed on hills, consider one that has a long range between charges, especially if you and/or spouse are golfers. You might find yourself wanting to travel considerable distances in the golf cart in a day. There are some great former threads on the subject if you want to check them out. Or you can just ask anew and I'm sure many forum posters can provide great information.

I noticed you are a 'sage' - guess the description fits - thanks. And now I know where to buy batteries. Love this forum!

Yes the cart path is that way[steep, narrow]because it is temporary-that doesn't excuse the fact it is poorly constructed-these people are pros-they should be able to do better

Yes, maybe they are temporary. Anybody can see that it is a construction area and it would be prudent to slow down.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Yep, the temporary path is a little steep, rough and narrow. However, I for one, am very appreciative that they put in a temporary path, rather than closing the path all together.

Cybermuda....sorry you had cart problems. That suxs, no matter the location. Hope you get them resolved soon...

There are companies that will get your cart home for you if you break down just like AAA. The one I use is called ********* and they charge $30/year. They are fast.

Now that thinking is a half full glass vs. a half empty glass. I agree!

I'm appreciative too that they made a temporary path but they really had to do that.Lake Sumter Landing and all of the commercial area on 466 would have been cut off from anything north of 466.My point is the temporary path could be done in a better and safer way. Before anyone tells me to just drive carefully and slow down,I do.I saw a moron today pass a cart on the curve leading up to the incline. He had golf clubs so was probably risking his life and others so as not to miss his tee time.

Thank you all for your good wishes, and battery recommendations

I'm okay for now - it's Mrs Cybermuda's turn to push next time...

I always caution folks with, "be careful out there, there is a nut behind every wheel" (not just referring to the nut that holds the steering wheel on)!! Guess the same applies to golf carts too! :D

Just checked, and they have A-4 stamped on them - really, if I can't get more than seven and a half years out of a set of batteries... :-)

Still, the cart got us to Lake Sumter and back this morning without needing to be pushed so there's life in the old gal yet

and the cart's not doing too badly, either

Seven and a half years

I am not sure you can keep counting once your range is down under five miles on a charge :a20:

The secret is to find somewhere uphill to drive to, then I can always coast back home

Anyway, just off to compose my "batteries for sale" thread...
