Default Florida rental tax

It seems there is a tax on rentals of 9% in Florida. I have rented three times in TV, and have talked to many potential landlords, and have only had one say that my rent would have a 9% Florida tax added to it (whiched caused me to cross that one off my list). Do the landlords typically pay the Florida tax out of the rental cost, add it on, or avoid it? Just curious as to how it works in "real life".

I rented in July (for 1 week), and my July landlord didn't tack on a rental tax. I'm renting again in October (again for 1 week, but in a different village, with a different landlord). My landlord for the Oct. rental also didn't say anything about a rental tax either. Maybe both landlords took the 9% rental tax out of the rental amount that I paid?

Yes the landlord has the option of having a lower rent and charging you the tax or uping the rent and paying the tax themselves, one way or another tax is paid. Trust me the state knows when you are renting you fill out paperwork every month, any renter staying less then 6 months and one day, the rental is subject to tax.
