I am thinking you are seeing three of my favorite Munchkins. Hug them for me.

I have the Itch BAD today

Aw man, I have the itch to get to the Villages BAD today. I took a look at the recreation schedule and there are so many things I want to do (quilting, polyer clay, beading, scrabble, bingo, line dancing, etc.)

I also looked at the resale properties and think "Ohhhhh I like that one! And THAT one!". Am I in a position right now to buy? Nope. I just keep torturing myself. This usually happens when I am not slammed at work.

Ditto.

While waiting for my condo to sell, I sometimes look at properties that I would like to purchase and tear up knowing I can't buy it immediately.

I try not to torture myself but I do occassionally especially if it is a property that I would buy in a heartbeat. :(

Someday, it will happen for all us wannabees. :)

Awwww. This made me so sad to hear.

I have to say this. Some dear friend from Buffalo said I should ask the fellow who saw to the building of the basilica there years ago, Father Baker, to intercede for us. I did ask. Our house sold in nine days. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

You can look him up. He runs with some great company.

No, going to go shake my booty at Jazzercise (5:45 pm). After that, you really don't want me to show up as I will most likely smell like an old goat. :D

That's funny. I think many people have an addiction to TOTV. So, it's okay! You're not the only one!:posting:

Yes, the TV schedule sure is better than ours. Work, work, and more work. However, the pay off will be so sweet.

We started the count down to retirement five years ago, and friends keep telling us, those years will fly by. Not happening, since we found about TV nine months ago, its torture. Three more long hard years.

KathyW 08-04-2011 09:16 PM

I've been lurking long enough, and decided I needed to join in. We purchased a lot in Sanibel about two weeks ago, but won't be full time for at least two more years. Hopefully, only two more winters!
I also check TOTV daily, and now have a drawer full of info pulled from this site. I have learned so much! And I find more and more people coming from MI!!!

Welcome to you.

How lucky you are to have chosen Sanibel for your village. I have met two of the nicest folks who will live there too. I am sure you have already begun to be crazy about GaDawg and his lovely GaPeach. They are even nicer in person.

I hope you enjoy every second of a thousand years here with all of us in Lower Paradise.

Every good wish,

Gracie.

KathyW 08-04-2011 09:34 PM

Thank you for the kind welcome Gracie! I can't wait to meet my Sanibel neighbors! It will be a great Village.

Hey TV Wannabees/Gonnabees/Soontobees: I feel your pain. I will be back in TV renting again for a week in October. Would any of you like me to rub a lucky palm tree in TV so that you all get to move to TV sooner rather than later?

And if any Frogs know where such a lucky palm tree is in TV, please let me know. :).

I love the idea of the countdown clock..I have 47 hrs and 7 minutes until I start my first trip to to TV. I feel fortunate to be able to spend 3 weeks in TV to be able to immerse myself and drink as much kool aid as possible. I'm also happy that I convinced my kids to come down for part of the trip to see what TV is all about and why their dad is so excited after visiting TOTV and all the other websites. They don't understand how I could be setting up to meet people online and in advance to play golf and for meetings and wine parties when I havent even met them. We live in an amazing age of technology to be able to do this on the Internet. Imagine back just 20 years ago how we would not have this opportunity to network.
I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can over tine next 3 weeks. BTW when is the next TOTV meeting and the next meet and greet.
Now if I could just convince my girlfriend of 8 years to come down over the next 3 weeks so she can get some kool aid too! I'm still working on it.
Larry

Now we have 4 of us that I'm aware of....Michigan women. It's funny, we all live in the same general area....Novi, Northville, Bloomfield Hills, Warren...too cool. We have to all make it a point to get together when we move to TV. It seems like we are all on similiar time plans also.

Perhaps we should all meet somewhere for a glass of wine, or dinner. We sure would have a lot to talk about. Plus we would all know someone when we get to TV.

Sounds great to me. I'm off on Fridays and weekends.

I have every other Friday off so Aug 19th is open. We will need to get in touch with the other two ladies and see if that date works for them. If not Saturday August 20th is good also. Lets try to pick a central location, maybe somewhere on Woodward.

This is very exciting, four of us all talking about our dream of being in TV!

I cannot make the 19th, I work Fridays unless I take a vacation day. Saturday might work, I could definitely do dinner, not sure about lunch. Most Saturdays I have appointments in one form or the other and/or driving mom around for her stuff.

This could be fun.

KathyW 08-05-2011 10:12 PM

Hi Michigan ladies - I am looking forward to meeting all of you! I work full time at an elementary school, so my schedule is pretty strict, but I'm open to suggestions. Let me know!

As I said, I have weekends free so we just need to plan it. The idea of somewhere around Woodward sounds good...how about Ferndale or Royal Oak?

No need to take a vacation day on Friday. Let's do dinner Saturday.

Not to familiar with Ferndale, any nice places to eat there? Andiamo's or Tom's Oyster bar are my favorites in Royal Oak.

Are you familiar with a restaurant called Boodles in Royal Oak?

I could do Royal Oak without a problem. And I can do dinner on the 20th. I am not a picky eater so any of the above mentioned places will work. I wonder if we should make a reservation? Royal Oak is nuts on Saturday nights.

Hi Suzanne, if you were in town, you would be welcome to join us. I bet you don't miss those cold, gray Michigan winters!

Are you familiar with Comos in Ferndale....Nine Mile and Woodward...good Italian with an large outside eating area..definitely not high class but a fun place. I'm a little concerned about RO on a Saturday...so many kids hitting the bars.

I was going to suggest Cosmos. I have only been there once but I loved it and remember that they had a very yummy pizza. It was a fun place too.

Trish Crocker 08-06-2011 11:13 AM

works for me...and sorry about the misspell! Now we have to make sure it's ok with the others. The 20th around 6ish (to avoid the late crowds?)

tippyclubb 08-06-2011 11:56 AM

Okay Comos it is, Saturday Aug 20th at 6:00 pm !

Trish are you bringing your husband or will it be just the girls? Doesn't matter to me.

Since I am not married, it will just be me but I have no objection to spouses if they are interested in coming also. The more, the merrier.

Trish Crocker 08-06-2011 12:25 PM

Since this is a public forum, we should probably be using IM's..just sent one to Kathy. Last response before going to IM's...either way, spouse or not..he's more than willing to come but if we just want a girl thing, ok with me. By the way, just want to apologize to everyone reading this...we should have taken it outside the forum but it just happened..so sorry!!

Ladies, No worries -- Enjoy your dinner!! Totally off post -- I lived in Troy for one year in 1987 (near 17 Mile Road) -- a year I would rather forgot.

Thank you Schaumburger and I'm sorry Michigan wasn't good to you! Look on the bright side, if you had loved it here you wouldn't have wanted to move to TV. (yeah, right, as if that could happen!!)
