Gracie, I really like that idea of a Premier Villa, make it in two models, 2 or 3 bedroom.

Two things I can think of now that I've seen the floorplans.

1) In-law apartment

2) Attached or semi-attached storage shed/area.

I'm happy with our 3 BR CYV floorplan, but I was talking with some women friends over cards one night - 2 of them are single - about the future of retirement housing.

Seemed to me that since there are so many singles (and odds are that the majority of us women will end up single someday even if we aren't now) that you would think that retirement places (like the Villages) would offer a couple of floor plans that offer 2 master suites. People who either want to have a roommate for company, or for financial reasons, might be a big buying market.

Some of the Villages plans I've seen offer what they call "split plans" which offer privacy, but don't offer very equal accommodations, e.g, the 2nd bath is much smaller, and no walk-in closet in the 2nd bedroom.

So - my vote would be for more split floorplans with larger 2nd bedroom/bath offerings. Even if it ends up being a couple, or a single, buying and living in it, seems to me would be great for a guest and/or extra storage. Seems to me many of us, and especially singles, might also just have long-term guests who would appreciate the space.

I would like to see a pure condo option with at least a 2-car garage. The CYV's are close but not enough garage except for the rare few with double garages. Same with the condos in Spanish Springs. I concur with the others about not needing two eating areas. One would suffice for us at least. I'm in the camp that likes a coat closet in the entryway. I also don't prefer the kitchen to be visible when entering the home by the front door as many models offer. Another pet peeve is having to carry BBQ and grilling items through the house to the outdoor patio. I would like to walk straight out of the kitchen to the outdoor grilling area.
